Every so often, an experience hits you so hard, you can’t stop thinking about it. That was Lucid Gravity at Electrify Expo 2025 in Los Angeles. From the moment I stepped inside this SUV, it was clear: Lucid didn’t compromise on a single thing. Every material, every line, every feature had purpose—and that purpose was excellence.

In this deep-dive blog post, we’ll break down my full impressions of the Lucid Gravity, how it compares to everything else at the show, and why it might just be the most refined and forward-thinking electric SUV on the market.

To bring you the full experience, we captured the interview with Peter Ding, Senior Manager of Lucid Gravity Product Marketing, in both 360º and standard video formats:

A Design Language All Its Own

The moment you approach the Lucid Gravity, it’s striking. It feels less like a conventional SUV and more like an icon of precision—something imagined in a wind tunnel and sculpted by human hands. The exterior lines are aerodynamic yet aggressive. The proportions are bold but elegant. It’s clearly not trying to mimic any other SUV on the market. It’s defining its own segment.

Peter described this design philosophy as "intelligent minimalism." Everything that made the Air sedan an award-winning marvel has been recalibrated for the larger, family-focused Gravity. But it doesn't feel scaled up. It feels reimagined. From the ultra-thin LED light bar across the front fascia to the expansive panoramic roof, the Gravity feels closer to an architectural masterpiece than a daily driver.

And yet—it’s made for daily life.

Interior: The Art of Space

Step inside the Gravity and time slows down. I’m not exaggerating. The cabin experience is pure serenity, and it’s hard to overstate how important that is when you’re talking about long-distance family vehicles or luxury utility transport.

Highlights include:

  • A second row that is incredibly spacious and well-designed for both comfort and utility

  • A third-row that doesn’t feel like an afterthought

  • One of the most intuitive touchscreens I’ve ever used—responsive, well-placed, and integrated seamlessly

  • A clean, horizontal layout that doesn’t distract but instead invites you to breathe and take in your environment

It’s not just functional, it’s emotional design. Lucid has figured out how to create a space that relaxes you.

Peter told me that Lucid spent considerable time analyzing how people actually live in their vehicles. They looked at everything—from how kids climb in, to how dogs lie down, to how groceries are loaded. The result? A layout that just makes sense.

Driving Experience: Instantaneous Elegance

While I didn’t get to take the Gravity out on a full drive, Peter walked us through the performance metrics and what they’re building toward. Dual motors. All-wheel drive. A powertrain that delivers muscle when you need it and grace when you don’t.

One number that stuck out: 0–60 mph in 3.4 seconds.

That’s sports car territory in a vehicle that can haul your entire family and all your gear. Combine that with regenerative braking, an adaptive air suspension system, and advanced stability control, and you’re looking at one of the most versatile EVs ever produced.

But more than the specs—it’s about how it feels. And according to Peter, the drive quality is buttery smooth, with barely any cabin noise thanks to soundproofing, motor placement, and precision engineering.

Range & Charging: Class-Leading Efficiency

Lucid is known for pushing boundaries with battery technology. The Gravity is expected to have an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles, depending on the configuration.

It supports fast charging that can deliver 200 miles in less than 11 minutes. That’s ideal for road trips, errands, or a weekend escape.

One thing Peter was clear on: Lucid builds everything in-house—motors, batteries, software. This vertical integration is key to their performance and efficiency.

Family First: No Compromises

This wasn’t an EV that was made and then later adapted for family use. The Gravity was conceived from the beginning as a family-first luxury SUV.

What stands out most is the thoughtful use of space, material choices, and accessibility. Lucid made sure the vehicle accommodates everyday life—from grocery runs to long-haul trips—with elegance.

Everything about the Gravity interior feels designed for quiet comfort, ease of use, and premium aesthetics without overcomplicating the user experience.

Lucid’s Bigger Vision

Lucid isn’t just building beautiful cars. They’re building an ecosystem. The company plans to continue scaling its production, and Gravity is a major part of that vision.

Peter mentioned they’re exploring:

  • Over-the-air updates to continue improving features after purchase

  • Advanced driver assistance systems that are continually evolving

  • Sustainable manufacturing practices tied to their Arizona-based factory

You can tell Lucid is future-proofing—not just for EV adoption, but for smart vehicle evolution.

One has to wonder—will Lucid develop a luxury robo-taxi variant down the line? Gravity already feels like a rolling lounge, and its spacious interior could lend itself to that future.

Why I’d Trade My Audi for One

I currently drive an Audi SQ5. It’s sharp. It’s quick. It’s premium. But after spending time with the Gravity—I'm not sure I’ll keep it.

Lucid’s SUV is more comfortable. More tech-savvy. More future-ready. It made my Audi feel like a fossil. That's not easy to admit.

Final Thoughts + Watch the Experience

The Lucid Gravity is more than a vehicle. It’s a statement. A declaration that you don’t have to compromise between luxury, space, performance, and sustainability.

I absolutely loved this SUV. There’s a reason why it stole my heart at Electrify Expo LA 2025. And I’m grateful to Peter Ding for the time and insight he shared with us.
