LG Solar has officially exited the solar industry, and the NeON 2 is discontinued. While the panel offered excellent performance and long-term value during its time, we recommend exploring current alternatives such as QCells Q.Tron, REC Alpha, Canadian Solar HiKu, or Maxeon (formerly part of SunPower). These options offer similar or better performance with active production, support, and warranty coverage.
 
LG NeON 2 – N-Type Solar Technology from a Former Industry Leader
 
The LG NeON 2 was one of the most popular residential solar panels ever manufactured, offering reliable performance through N-type monocrystalline cells, low annual degradation, and excellent efficiency. With wattages ranging from 330W to 375W, the panel was frequently used on high-end residential systems and earned a reputation for durability and visual appeal—especially in its black-on-black configurations.
 
What set the NeON 2 apart was LG’s CELLO technology, a multi-wire busbar design that reduced resistance and improved performance in real-world conditions. The panels were backed by a 25-year product and performance warranty, with degradation rates as low as 0.33% per year after the first year—outperforming most standard Tier 1 panels during its era.
 
LG exited the solar industry in 2022. While support for existing warranties may still be available, the NeON 2 is no longer in production or available for new installations.
