The FranklinWH aPower S is a streamlined, stackable energy storage solution built for flexibility, scalability, and intelligent energy management. Designed as a modular counterpart to the aPower 2, the aPower S allows homeowners to increase their energy storage capacity with additional 13.6 kWh units while maintaining the full functionality of the FranklinWH system.
While the aPower S does not contain its own inverter, it’s engineered to work in conjunction with a primary aPower 2unit and the FranklinWH aGate. This allows it to serve as a cost-effective expansion unit, perfect for larger homes, high-usage properties, or customers looking to grow their backup power reserve over time without purchasing a full second system. The result is a highly customizable battery setup that can scale from 13.6 kWh up to 204 kWh across multiple units.
The aPower S is AC-coupled by design when paired with the inverter housed in an aPower 2. This setup makes it compatible with both new and existing solar installations using common string inverter brands. It’s also fully integrated into the FranklinWH energy management ecosystem, allowing users to control and monitor the entire system through the FranklinWH app—including battery status, load prioritization (via aGate), and backup behavior.
With its compact footprint, long cycle life, and indoor/outdoor-rated enclosure, the aPower S offers an elegant solution for scaling energy storage—whether the goal is full home backup, time-of-use shifting, or long-term energy resilience.
