The FranklinWH aGate is the centralized smart energy management controller that enables whole-home backup, automated load prioritization, and seamless integration between solar, battery storage, and utility power. Designed to work in conjunction with the FranklinWH aPower 2, the aGate ensures your home stays powered during outages while maximizing battery efficiency and user control in both grid-connected and off-grid scenarios.
 
As the command center of the FranklinWH ecosystem, the aGate continuously monitors your home’s circuits and intelligently routes power based on your preferences, utility rate schedules, or backup needs. During a grid outage, it instantly island your system and powers your home using energy stored in the aPower 2 batteries. But what sets the aGate apart is its ability to manage essential vs. non-essential loads in real time, which helps extend battery runtime and allows homeowners to make smarter choices about what stays online.
 
The aGate panel connects directly to your home’s main service panel and supports up to 16 controlled circuits, allowing users to group and prioritize appliances like HVAC, refrigerators, well pumps, EV chargers, or medical devices. Users can update load settings through the FranklinWH app, enabling dynamic control based on battery levels, time-of-use pricing, or solar generation.
 
With built-in support for generator integration, auto-transfer switching, and real-time energy flow visibility, the aGate turns any FranklinWH system into a full-featured energy management platform. It also supports remote diagnostics and over-the-air software updates, ensuring long-term performance without repeated technician visits.
